This is a place where I’m in a constant battle to get all of the words out.
Especially the ones that add value, bring about encouragement and make you think. It’s also a place where I hope to let you in a bit more on who I am, where you can get to know me every now and again laugh out loud at some of the crazy things I write (that you’re likely thinking too).
Thank you for coming over here and spending some of your precious moments with me.
This is me. My name is Regina.
I am in my early 40s and the single parent to a 16yo boy who I love and like most of the time. We moved to Texas in June of 2015 and after spending many winters in Wisconsin we are looking at the move as our newest adventure. I enjoy reading, watching (that darned) Netflix and taking pictures. My favorite places are quiet corners in coffee shops and libraries. I am most myself in small groups and intimate gatherings and truly shine when I’m able to encourage others. If there is an opportunity to pack a bag (or two) and travel to see someplace new you can count me in. I am grateful to have been bit by the travel bug and have most certainly infected my son.
I have been journaling almost my entire life. And though our lives have not been the story I would have written for us, I am convinced that journaling through the journey has made all of the difference in my survival through those times.
My journals and journaling habits have changed over the years with many benefits.
Currently, I journal to…
- dig into the recesses of my heart
- write out my prayer requests
- write the unfiltered things I want to scream before I release them
- express my gratitude to God
- clean out the ugly things I think and feel towards myself and others
- question scripture, people in authority over me and myself
- hone my argument
- humble myself before God has to
- record that I actually did or said something (good or bad)
- remember milestones
- make plans
- capture God’s love for me
- read my wrongdoing in my own handwriting
- pat myself on the back
And now, I want to share my journals and my heart behind the thousands of entries with you!
Follow me on Instagram (for fun documentation of what we’re learning and how we’re living now) and please share the blog with all your people.
I really pray that you will see parts of yourself in the stories of my life. If not your own, someone you love. Everyone is battling or recovering from some fight, they just may not be ready to share it. God is working in our lives and wants to move us closer to Him and will use our weaknesses – the real stuff – to do it. I believe that when we journal our stories, we live our lives. That we move closer to the things, desires, dreams buried deep within us; even though our journey and experience will be different in getting “there”. I’m grateful you’re here, I thank you in advance for your graciousness and compassion as you read along.
I truly hope that you will begin (or pick up again) living your journaled life.
